Is Fruit String Thing Discontinued?

Yes, the Fruit String Thing was discontinued in the late 90s. There are many other candies with similar tastes and textures available in the market. New brands along with a few popular ones have replaced it from the selves. Different brands came with new approaches and better marketing strategies to replace the fruit String things. The drop in demand paves the path of discontinuation for this delicious playful candy. Finally, somewhere around the late 90s, the brand stops its production.

When and Why the Fruit String Thing Discontinued?

The real discontinuation time is not known to be exact although it is expected to be around the late 90s. Many of you just like me have never thought of this candy as anything serious. It was a part of a quick snack if you like it that way. It gradually disappeared from the selves and no one cares much. Fruit string things were primarily replaced by more popular candy of that era, something like Gushers.

It does not take long for this candy to be outperformed by competitors. In fact, the original owners General Mills, introduce many cany with similar tastes and textures. Their approach to increasing new brand sales costs heavily to the Fruit String Thing. So technically ignorance towards the brand is the main reason for its discontinuation.

The inability to maintain its popularity is another reason for the failure of this candy. Although it’s good to say that those who love it are still die-hard fans. Even I like this candy coz it reminds me of some really sweet childhood memories.

Brands like fruit Gushers, Fruit by the Foot, and Fruit Roll-ups were among the few candies that successfully replace the Fruit String thing from the market selves.

Can You Still Buy Fruit String Thing Candy?

Nope, Probably not. The Fruit String Thing candy was discontinued around the late 90s. It is not in production so you can’t buy these.
